January 2012 Newsletter
Chair's Letter
Dear Fellow Democrats:
The San Mateo County Democratic Central Committee wishes everyone a Happy New Year.
The year ahead is an exciting one as we are now preparing for the Presidential Election ahead. In the coming months the San Mateo County Democratic Party will sponsor numerous events to raise funds and engage active Democrats as we prepare to open our campaign headquarters this summer as the central location for Democratic Party election activity in San Mateo County.
Pre-Endorsement Conferences
As we are in a Presidential Election cycle many seats in the State Legislature and Congress will also be on the ballot in June and in November. Elections will differ somewhat this year as California will now conduct open Primary Elections with the top two vote-getters - regardless of Party affiliation - appearing on the November General Election ballot.
This month, local Party delegates will gather for Pre-Endorsement Conferences in very region in the State. The Pre-Endorsement Conferences are the first determining step for the California Democratic Party's pre-primary endorsement process.
Pre-Endorsement Conferences will be held January 21 & 22, 2012. For more information on the Pre-Endorsement Conferences please visit http://www.cadem.org/endorsements.

To ensure that San Mateo County has a vigorous campaign effort our Party needs support so that we can all support our candidates.

There remains much work to do in the near future as we prepare for the next elections and we invite all San Mateo County Democrats to participate in upcoming events and to keep San Mateo County blue.
